I am a quirky and silly full time nurse, mom to 3 kids, am getting divorced, and I am physically broken. At only 36 years old, I have enough health problems to convince others I was much older. Some are mild and don't interfere with functioning enough to be worried but others are very disruptive in my life and limit my abilities. In summary I have GERD(recurring reflux/heartburn), gastritis (stomach inflammation), severe irritable bowl (possibly IBD), asthma, chronic year round allergies leading to sinus and ear infections, SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), labral tear of the hip, herniated lumbar disc, lumbar facet joint arthritis, torticollis (spasms/abnormally tight muscles in neck), ankle instability/weakness, knee joint pain (undiagnosed), and an unknown immune disorder that causes painful hives several times a year.

Most of my problems are well controlled on medication but a couple need to be corrected with surgery. I live in moderate-severe chronic pain in my back and hip that at times makes doing simple things very difficult or impossible. It takes almost all my energy to go to work every day and not go home early. Surgery is my last option to get relief after trying everything else including medications, stretching/exercises, inversion therapy, chiropractic care, and steroid injections. Even if I was allowed to make payments on the insurance deductible and out of pocket expenses, I still can't possibly afford to take the 2 months off work to recover. During the surgery consultation for my hip, the doctor stated that I would have to be on crutches for 6-8 weeks and won't be able to bear weight. I work in pediatric nursing so I wouldn't be able to return to work until I am able to walk without crutches, squat, and bend.

Another source of constant pain, that at times is nearly unbearable, is the herniated disc in my low back that presses on a nerve root and the arthritis in the joints of my spine in my low back. The disc needs to be removed and the nerves in the arthritic joints need to be burned away so they can no longer send pain signals. I am unable to get both surgeries completed at the same time but I need to at least get my hip fixed so I can walk unrestricted and get at least some reduction in the pain I experience on a daily basis.

I don't like asking other for help and have always been pretty good about doing things for myself but I see no way for me to make surgery a possibility without financial help. I want to be able to play with my kids, provide for them, take care of my home without excessive pain, return to activities I used to enjoy, and wake up knowing I won't have to hurt all day. Any donation amount would be deeply and greatly appreciated!
