Campaign Story
Hurricane Irma has caused unspeakable damage to the Caribbean, particularly in the British Overseas Territories.
The worst affected islands are the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and the Turks and Caicos Islands whose population are also British Citizens.
Hurricane Irma was particularly unkind and unforgiving to these islands and, in addition to the havoc wrought by the hurricane, the Islands now face looting and (in the BVI) the escape of high-risk prisoners amid attempts to rebuild their lives.
Our CEO, Philip Smith, was lucky to escape the BVI just before the storm arrived. He was struck by the warmth of the Islanders and the kindness he received from them. It is just shocking that devastation occurred so soon.
We are raising £5,000 to help the Islanders with the relief operations.
