"Come join us in the Amazon this year and help to provide remote villages with fresh water, restore the local primary schools, teaching English to primary school children and/or building bathrooms for those without access to such basic necessities" VESA Amazonas Explored Project
My name is Judea and I am fundraising to go to the Ecuadorian Amazon with VESA (Volunteer Eco Students Abroad) for 2 weeks in June to help teach English in tribal communities, as well as refurbish schools, and provide adequate sanitation to help reduce disease and infections.
The first week involves helping local communities to build sanitation and restore schools; whilst also teaching english to local children. The second week involves a trek through the jungle visiting animal refuges and other communities.
Where Donations Will Go
The money raised for this project will go towards the tools and materials needed to restore local schools and to build bathrooms for communities. Donations will also help support children in Ecuador so that they can get an education, as well as going to wildlife refuges in the Amazon. To help reduce the carbon-footprint, materials used for this project are ecologically friendly where possible. Donations will also go towards hiring local people to assist with the project, stimulating the local economy.
A small amount will also go towards accommodation whilst in the Amazon, and I will also be raising money for the flight costs to Ecuador.
This is a great opportunity to go out and help these communities, and to make a difference with people that really need it.
