My name is Tricia, a graduate of the University of the Philippines School of Economics and a young professional who recently joined First Circle, a fintech startup on a mission to expand business opportunity for small businesses in emerging countries in Southeast Asia through financial services.
I have been selected among more than 2000 applicants to represent the Philippines at The Youth Assembly at the United Nations in New York City, an annual gathering of hundreds of young people from around the world who are eager to make a difference or actively committed in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in their countries.
As someone who is passionate about improving financial inclusion and reducing economic inequality in my country, attending the conference will be an amazing opportunity for me to connect with emerging change-makers of my generation, as well as the most influential leaders, experts, practitioners, and organizations in the field of global development.
The intensive university certificate-based program co-developed and delivered by Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), called the Social Venture for Sustainable Development, included in the conference program will also equip me with hands-on skills in creating and developing a social venture business project.
I know that the skills and relationships I will develop at Youth Assembly will dramatically expand my ability to effect innovative change and positively impact society on a larger scale!
In order to attend, I need help to raise funds by June 29 to cover expenses:
- Package cost (includes accommodation and meals), $2650
- Roundtrip flight from Manila to New York, approx. $1700
- Other expenses (food, transportation), approx. $650
I have already invested much time and money into the process and I’m now humbly asking generous individuals and organisations to help me get the rest of the way there. I hope you consider supporting me in my effort to attend The Youth Assembly!
