HISTORY: In 2007 two young girls from Pretoria, were reported missing and subsequently found deceased. In response, a concerned group of parents, with a background in crime prevention and the legal profession, decided to set up a team dedicated to recovering missing children and to help prevent such horrors from recurring. In honour of these girls, both wearing pink at the time of their disappearance, the team decided it fitting to consolidate their efforts under the name: “the Pink Ladies”.

WHAT WE DO: From early beginnings, in a hurriedly set up online chatroom and bulletin board, we have progressed to having our own website, several Facebook pages, and a growing base of volunteers all over South Africa and the world, currently numbering in the region of 90,000. The Pink Ladies and their volunteers assist our local South African Police Service, Special Investigations Units, Family and Child Services, Interpol and other role-players in the recovery of missing persons at no cost.

HOW WE DO IT: A coordinator in each province across South Africa oversees cases and mobilises volunteers. Our members operate within strict guidelines monitored by our Operations Department, the SAPS, security service providers and our own private investigators. At the request of various embassies and branches of Interpol, our organisation has been involved in thousands of cases over the past 11 years, including high profile and internationally reported cases.

At present, our directors and key members are full time employees of corporate companies and our operations are almost entirely self-funded. With your assistance, much needed funds will be utilised to maintain our operations and keep our services cost-free to those who need them most.

We thank you for your valued interest in our organisation and look forward to hearing from you.
