My sister and I volunteer for a very small, non-government funded charity called IAPWA. Currently Victoria is volunteering out in Malaysia where she has rescued a number of special dogs that have required absolute devotion to nurture them back to health.

One dog, Star, was found severely malnourished and blind in both eyes. Thanks to a course of vitamins, 2 injections, 4 different tablets every day and eye drops every 4 hours, Star's vision has now returned. She is a happy playful dog but will always require a bit of extra attention.

Tess was one of five puppies rescued with their mother. Unfortunately, due to the others being so weak, Tess was the only one of the puppies to survive. Her mum Brownie contracted pneumonia, and was sadly too weak after giving birth to fight it off and had to be put down not long after. Tess is a little fighter and is best friends with Star; they always look out for each other.

We are now in the expensive process of bringing them back to the UK! They have a home when they get here, but it is going to cost £1000 for the pair of them. This includes flights, carriers, vaccinations and microchipping. Fortunately they do not have to be quarantined on arrival, and can come straight home to start their new life in a loving home.

If you donate, and are interested in following the progress of the puppies, you will be able to sign up to a mailing list where you will receive pictures of the dogs and updates on how they are settling into their new home!
