Bring Roy Home!

My much loved husband Roy has been back in the UK for nearly 4 years now,working to support myself and our son,who have remained in Belize, to try and get our wine business off the ground. Unfortunately, Belize is a country where people have very little money to spare and, because of falling numbers in tourists last year (Elections in the USA), we couldn't raise the money needed for basic groceries and really struggled to get through the days and weeks.

Roy works in the building industry, so we stress out most weeks, wondering if he is going to be able to put money in the bank, so that we can buy groceries for ourselves and the dogs (who tend to come first in our family, as far as food is concerned!). Work in the building industry is dependent on weather conditions, so if there is too much rain or other types of storms are taking place, work can often grind to a halt, as most of you will realise.

Since his return to the UK, Roy has had 2 operations. The second one (last year) was for an emergency appendectomy! After this simple operation, Roy was attached to drips for a week, because he contracted an infection in hospital and was lucky to survive but, the illness left him shaky and ill for many months, while my son and I continued to panic about how we would manage without money,in the bank?

Since that time, Roy has managed to keep working but, he is unhappy and homesick. He remained shaky for a long while, but the doctor, says only time will heal his system! However, we want to bring him home before anything else happens to him. We need to have enough money to live on, for the next twelve months, during which time, we can carry on with trying to promote our wine business and our new Sandwich Bar, which we have recently opened.

By the end of next year, we should finally be in receipt of the Government Pensions, that the British Government have delayed paying out on, time after time! Everything will then be 'A' OK and, all things being equal,Roy should be back to full health and we hope that our business ventures will finally be up and running smoothly!.
