Campaign Story
A writer. A Special-Ed teacher. A friend so special, she's become like family. This summer, she is moving from the East Coast Washington (DC) to the very west-most side of Washington state. As my sister (of the self-chosen variety) I am eager for her to get here!
As you know, teachers don't make an extravagant amount of money by any stretch of the imagination, and while Michelle is culling down her belongings a great deal, there are still some personal belongings that are worth holding on to due to replacement cost or meaning. Due to health concerns, Michele isn't able to physically lift and haul much of anything, as well. If you are local to her, and don't have funds to offer, I'm sure the gift of self July 6th/7th would be greatly appreciated!
Michele and I will be traveling over a week together in July, but she could certainly use some support, love and help to get her to Seattle. She's become a part of our family, spending Christmases with us, and we are so eager for her to become a part of our regular life celebrations! But this is where YOU come in. As you can imagine, transporting goods, yourself, and a cat (Ziggy!) from coast to coast is a somewhat expensive venture. I've set the goal for $2500, but below are some of the costs associated with travel, and where your money might go:

$250 | Gas. Driving from east to west will cost approximately $250. (A $32 donation will cover about one day's worth of driving!) |
$150 | Storage Unit upon arrival (~3 months cost) $50 helps cover a month! |
$312 | Meals while we drive - $13 could cover either her lunch or a cost-conscious dinner! |

One U box - Studio/Efficiency size. This will cover the bare minimum. We are exploring ways to cut this cost by perhaps driving partway in a U-haul, then U-boxing from a closer location. But physical limitations (Cost of 2 U-boxes is: $2446) |
