I am a 20-years-old fledgling tenor saxophonist in Okinawa, Japan with a strong passion and a huge interest in Blues music.
My home island Okinawa is a very beautiful island, but it's very small and chances for me to interact with other musicians and to develop my music career are extremely limited.
My home Okinawa, Japan
To gain deeper understanding of Blues music, I would love to travel to Chicago and Mississippi, birth places of blues, with my saxophone, and interact with local Blues musicians by joining jam sessions and gigs, and visit Chicago Blues Museum to learn the Blues history. I strongly believe that it's more beneficial for me to learn Blues Music live with local Blues musicians than to read Blues theory book at home in Okinawa.
My hero Mr.B.B.King
After I return back from my trip in Chicago, I am going to apply to the Berklee College of Music and Mannes School of Music to develop a further music career.
I am currently working 2 full time jobs and practicing sax at night to save up for the trip, but it is taking a while since I am from a single mom household, and have to pay the house rent and living costs all by myself.
With this fundraising, I am looking for some help for me to get to Chicago and Mississippi a little sooner. My goal is to raise $5000 including transfer expenses and dairy expenses for 3 months(3 months is the longest period Japanese can stay in the States without VISA).
Pre-ticket to my feature concert(when I become a professional Saxophonist, donors are invited to my show:)!!)
