Over the weekend, we were informed of a rabbit found straying in a playground along Linden Drive @ Bukit Timah. A couple spotted several of them since March and managed to rescue one which they kept as their own. Few weeks later, they sighted another that was running away from some dogs. They quickly rescued it and took care of it. They then contacted us to help find it a new home.
The rabbit was handed to us at Vet Central. Dr Ng did a thorough check and informed he was an unsterilized male ND estimated at 8 years old. He was found with heart murmur that needs to be treated. He also had a bite wound stretching from his nose to his lips. Blood test revealed a mild case of liver infection that is likely due to poor diet and care. He was hospitalized overnight for monitoring.
We named the rabbit Bingo and he is now with us at Bunny Wonderland. He is a very tiny ND but is very strong spirited. We are hopeful he will recover in times to come. (details from Bunny Wonderland FB page )
Note : excess funding / excess amount for Bingo - after his medical expenses will be used to provide his food supplies(hay, pellets, nutrition), ongoing medical follow ups (if any) and accessories which will aid in his recovery once he is housed in Bunny Wonderland until he finds his forever home.
*Heart murmur in rabbits is the result of oxygen deprivation or poor circulation: incoordination, weakness, weight loss, enteritis, difficult breathing
