This is Brenda’s story as told by her. She lost her father a few years back and has 4 siblings. She is the 3rd born. Her eldest sister did not attend school and her elder brother stopped in P.7. She is very interested in studying but her sick mother does not have the means to pay her school fees. Any effort towards supporting Brenda will be much appreciated. Let’s put our hands together.

”I am Brenda N. Promise aged 13. I completed P.7 in 2017 at Ttula Primary school. English was my best subject. I started my education from St. Claver Primary School. In primary three I took the second position in class but when I was promoted to Primary Four, the first term seemed a little difficult for me. However, things got better when I showed more determination in second term. I later changed the school and was taken to Ttula Primary School in Primary Five. I feared there were many pupils who were bright but I was surprised when I was the best in the three subjects (English, Social Studies and Science). The teacher told me to add more effort in Maths so that I succeed in all subjects. I tried my best in second term and the teacher was very proud of me. In third term I was the 5th out of 35 pupils and was promoted to Primary 6. Primary 6 was not difficult for me and I performed very well. When I was promoted to Primary 7 I was very happy but I found Math and Science very difficult. The teacher used to tell me that ‘If you do not love the teacher you cannot pass the subject’ so when I tried to listen to what I was told, [I managed to sit for the Primary Leaving Exams].

My mother had no money but she tried hard to pay my school fees. But now she is sick and does not have energy to work a lot. She wanted me to study and she took me to Freedom High School in this term but I have not completed it because she was sick and could not raise the money.”
