Brenda’s Collar Bone Operation

I have started this campaign to raise emergency funds for a very dear friend of mine.

Brenda is a 65 year old lady living in South Africa. Last weekend she tripped and fell on her left shoulder, breaking her collar bone. She does not have a medical or health policy, and the private and proper hospitals in South Africa is very expensive.

Her only options are to pay for an operation in a private clinic or to be at the mercy of South Africa's run-down State hospitals, where the conditions are often horrific. She is not even guaranteed a pillow or blankets should she get an available bed at her local government hospital.

The operation is urgent because her collar bone broke in such a way that it has sharp bones protruding into her flesh, which will damage nerve endings, and she will ultimately lose the use of her arm if not tended to urgently and properly.

She is still in the fortunate position to have a job at her age, although not affording her a healthy salary. If she loses the use of her arm, it may also impact on her earning capabilities.

The funds are needed within the next week because she needs to be operated in within the next week. The longer the operation is delayed, the greater the possibility of serious long-term injury.

Please, in the Name of God we appeal to your heart to assist Brenda.

She has to go to a government hospital tomorrow (Sunday the 13th) to put her name on a waiting list, with no-one knowing how long she will have to wait, even given the urgency of this operation. We pray that we will be able to cancel that process and book her into a proper hospital for this operation. In order to be able to do that, we need your assistance.
