Campaign Story
My name is Brenda I'm 24 years old. My brother James age 26 has been an drug addict for nearly 10 years and is living on the streets in JHB area. He started using drugs at a very young age 16 due to domestic violence and abuse so he used substances to deal with his circumstances, his choice of drug is Herion. I've tried taking him to free government rehabs such as Remar however because it's free and more like church centres most of these places cannot provide prober medical treatment and are outpatient programs. Herion withdrawals are fatal and can lead to death especially because he's been using it for so many years.
I'm reaching out and asking the public for assistance as I am unable to afford a rehabilitation center, I'm currently supporting myself and I do not have any relatives.
I've found a rehab facility that is quite affordable BREAKING THE CHAINS based in lenasia, costs are R7080 for the first month medication included thereafter R6000 per month. He wants to get better and stop but he won't be able to until he receives proper treatment.
Drug addiction is a devastating life It is harder today for people to get into treatment than it’s ever been in South-Africa especially for those who do not have the ability to pay.
Your support has never been more important to Action on Addiction as we respond to the serious challenges facing people in the grip of addiction during the coronavirus pandemic.
Any donations would be greatly helpful and appreciated.
You can make donations directly to me or the Rehabilitation Centre.
