Brave Akira Combats Cancer

Shakira Mercado "Akhy", is a brave 11 year-old girl from Binan, Laguna. It was found out Feb this year that she's suffering from Stage 3 NON-HODGKINS LYMPHOMA, a type of cancer that starts with the blood. She's currently confined in PEDIA ICU section in Perpetual Help Medical Center - Binan. It was only January this year that she started to feel sick. The nodes on her stomach were already removed, and also her ovaries since it were already damaged by the lymph nodes. After the operation, she went totally sick and found out that the cancer spread out. Now, she have to undergo CHEMOTHERAPY, but unfortunatelty, her body got weaker after the first shot so they cannot proceed the next stages of the chemotherapy. The doctor already told us that she may only live up to 1 year. With all the medicines and laboratories she needs, the family cannot afford to pay for all of it.

With your prayers and financial help, we could lengthen the life of Akhy. She's a brave child and we can see that she's really fighting. So are we to stop hoping? For God, nothing is impossible.
