About Me

My name is Brandi! I am a very ambitious young woman. I am a student at Paul Mitchell and have been very diligently working towards my goal of having my own brand of hand made, natural cosmetics! Starting my own make up businss has always been a dream of mine and I have just recently realized how possible it is to bring into reality. My ambition, optimism and positive outlook on my future has led to me having dedicated this past year to planning, planning, and planning every detail necessary in order to get my business off of the ground and out into the world! Having grown up poor, I have a strong desire to succeed and make the most I can with the ideas that I have. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I am looking forward to finally putting it into action! With your help I will be able to achieve my dream of building my business from the ground up as well as nudge the world onward towards a more natural, healthy beauty routine!

 About My Plan

I have been diligently planning to ensure I don't miss any small details in order to achieve my goal. I have been experimenting with my own formulas for making mineral makeup. My makeup is focused on the use of minerals and natural ingredients as opposed to the harmful preservatives you find in your average drug store cosmetics. I have a strong belief in health, style and good quality.

The ingredients that I am going to use for my handmade formulas are hand chosen and tested by yours truly. The highest quality possible is what I expect in makeup that I purchase, so I work diligently to ensure my hand made formulations are as flawless and impeccable as can be.

I have designed my own packaging for my makeup and have found cost effective materials to use. My theme for my brand is super-feminine with a slightly vintage, glamourous feel. The containers for my makeup will be hand decorated, hand labeled, as well as hand-accented.

I plan to begin selling my products in a small boutique in my town, and also on my own website. I have found software that will allow me to design my own website for a low cost.

I plan to make my products well known by having my own exhibits and booths at various trade shows. This will help me network with more people, and potentially allow me to network with boutique owners, cosmetic retailers and merchandisers who would be interested in selling my products in their facilities !

Breakdown of Total Cost

The total cost that I have come up with for my business is $6500. 

$1300 of the cost will cover all of the legal obligations I must meet in order to start doing businss. This covers a trademark, an LLC, a seller's permit, a business license, a vendor's license, a tax ID number, as well as product liability insurance.

$800 of the cost will include a computer, logo software, website design software, as well as a website domain.

$300 will cover the cost of the at home label making machine that I will use to customize the labels for each of my products

 $100 of the cost will cover my business cards that I will use to advertise.

$200 will cover my in-store display that I will be designing myself.

$1900 will cover the cost of my packaging, and packaging-accent decor.

$1450 will cover all of the quality ingredients that I need to ensure all of my makeup is top of the line.

$450  will cover miscellaneous materials that I will need for my workspace to ensure I have a clean, clutter-free place to work.

Philanthropy

 I have a strong belief in giving back when I can. If my business succeeds, I would like to be involved n charitable organizations that benefit and encourage young ladies and women to have a positive outlook on life, follow their dreams and remind them that they are important and in control of their destiny.
