Brain tumor surgery fundraising for a child

My name is Hristina Trifonova. On 23.11.2017 I experienced the worst day of my life. My 10 years old son – Ivo – was diagnosed with brain tumor and hydrocephalus. This was the day our battle began.

Ivo was admitted in a Bulgarian hospital right away. After the surgery I was told everything was okay. No treatment was prescribed, even though the operation led to a facial nerve damage.

Several weeks later I took my son to the hospital again. I felt something was not right. As it turned out – I was right. The tumor was still there. Only a small part of it had been removed so there wouldn’t be a hydrocephalus. Now, a new operation is desperately needed.

Specialists in Hanover, Germany, promise very high chances of recovery if they perform a second operation on Ivo. The surgery, however, costs more than I could ever afford- 50 000 euros excluding the expenses needed for our stay. Bulgarian authorities are unable to help me…

All I want is to see my child smiling again – he has the most beautiful smile in the world! I want to see him running, cycling, playing with his friends... He misses school, being independent and most of all, he misses his bike. I dream of Ivo being healthy and enjoying a happy childhood.

Currently, colleagues and friends are doing all they can to help me raise the money. Through fund-raising, last month they managed to gather 6 000 euros . The campaign continues, but we are running out of time.
