I thought 2018, the worst year of my life, is over yet another tragedy came. On December 26, 2018, my beloved mother together with my in-law, nephew and niece caught a road accident that left our entire family helpless and now asking for your help.
This year, I was terribly sick and got hospitalised for serious medical conditions. Medical bills, medicines racked up so quickly and vanished all my hard earned savings. Up to this date, I am still on medication and hopefully, everything will be okay.
To further add insult to injury, last July 2018 when our house was completely burned down. We were struggling to get funds to rebuild and gave us uncertainty on what lies ahead. This left us with debts and financial recovery was far from over.
We thought everything was okay. We celebrated Christmas Day with glee and being thankful to God, to my dear friends who helped us in the times of trouble. Not until December 26, 2018 when my family caught a road accident. Luckily, my in-law, niece and nephew were OKAY but my mom was badly hurt.
We immediately sent my Mom to Perpetual Succour in Cebu City to be checked and was assessed to have a deep open fracture on her lower left leg. Her doctor advised for an immediate operation as to not prolong her pain and not to risk her for infections.
As of this writing, my Mom is scheduled for operation and our medical bills zoomed up to nearly 50 thousand Pesos in just 3 days. Not to mention the additional costs for her stainless leg to be attached, the operational expenses, surgeon’s professional fees, post operational procedures, medicines and her physical therapies.
There are only two of us working in our family, me and my younger sister, and we are only low-class earners in the industry. Unfortunately, my Mom was not covered under my insurance and since my sister was new to her job, insurance coverage was not possible to my parents too.
I humbly ask for your financial help in this dire moment. I want to see my Mom’s happy face and to see her to be able to walk again. We’ve been through a lot this year and I thought of giving up. It is so hurtful to see my Mom being in pain and helpless. We rely now on people’s kindness for my Mom’s continuous medication and hospitalisation.
A little amount goes a long way. Please help my family to celebrate a better 2019 and I would consider this as a debt of gratitude even me can’t repay all of you.
Thank you in advance and a Prosperous New Year.
