Repair of the Bounty Dhow restaurant boat.
We had a dream. The French Chef, and sea lover always dreamt to have his restaurant boat. Because eating out on the sea, is for him the 'best'. After 3 years of savings, we built a traditional wooden Dhow boat of 15m long, with bar and kitchen area and toilet. Fridges and freezer powered by solar panels and wind turbines. 2 Yamaha outboard motors to make a tour on the sea, while eating the delicious food dishes of the French Chef, Steff. Who has also the Captain license and is allowed to marry people on the Bounty Dhow boat as well.
March 2020 the restaurant boat is ready to operated. Hench, the Covid-19 crises has just started and Zanzibar closes his airport. No tourists anymore. Rough sea and heavy rainfall does so much damage to our 'dream' boat, that we had to put it on dock for repair of wood. The boatbuilders didn't use the wright wood, which we weren't aware of till we got 2nd opinion from other boat builders.
As Covid-19 crises went on, we have been 'eating' our savings, as we don't get any help as expats.
We are in need of 8,000 Usd to get our 'dream' back into the waters. Repair of the wood and fiber glass coating, which will be done by a company under a one year guarantee.
Living as expats since 16 years, we can't get any loan. So this is our last way to get funding in order to realize our 'dream' and to bring back our Bounty restaurant boat in the sea waters. We are both in the fifties, have been working hard since the age of 19 years. Have been both very unlucky with unfair 'business' partners and lost during our careers a lot of money due to our faith in 'wrong' people.
May the 'star' shine for us soon in 2022.
Hopefully we will find the 'good' harts via this GoGetFunding site.
