Bounty- a mobile application to ease pet rescue and adoption

What is Bounty?

We are an international team that aims to have a positive impact on animals welfare improvement.

Bounty is a Non-profit project that aims to reduce the problems of overcrowded shelters, animal abandon and animal abuse.

Our mission is to connect people and shelters in order to facilitate animal rescue, animal abuse report and animal adoption on an international scale. Furthermore, in order to prevent animal abandon, we want to connect those people who cannot take care of rescued animals with shelters.

We have decided to create a mobile application called ‘Bounty app’ that will ease all these actions and will allow the users to do, in few clicks, a good action, and the shelters to find the right owners for their pets.

Why?

Bounty App is inspired by an abandoned dog who died last year due to sequels he had after someone threw him on a busy road as a puppy. He lightened many people lives and inspired this project: “If you cannot take care of a pet, you don’t need to hurt it, someone is surely hoping to have it as part of the family”.After Bounty passed away, we took action and created a useful and easy way to fight animal abandon, abuse and to prevent other animals from having the same destiny as our friend Bounty.

There are 126 million owned cats and dogs within the EU, but the number of abandoned and homeless dogs and cat in Europe is estimated to be over 100 million. The lack of a EU central statistics and a comprehensive EU legislation doesn’t allow to have a clear vision on real data for each european country, neither to have one welfare approach for animals to be implemented all over Europe.

The overview is not balanced and, even if in some countries the shelters are reaching high animal welfare standards in some others the situation is still on an emergency state.

How do we do that?

Bounty is a free non-profit mobile application, dedicated to two kinds of users:

Private users & Shelters

The application allows the private users to:

• easily adopt an animal from shelters or from other private users
• help to rescue abandoned or injured animals
• report animal abuses
• donate to shelters
• find a shelter for the pet they cannot take care of anymore.

The application allows shelters to:

• find the right owners for the animals
• get help in rescuing abandoned or injured animals
• get reports of animal cruelty
• get donation to support their activities.

The adoption process

The adoption process has been studied in order to help shelters find the right owner for the right pet. The user will have to complete a form with different criteria, describing:

• Himself
• His family members
• The place where he lives
• His daily lifestyle and routine
• His capability to take care of the pet

The project Launch

We aim to build a solid digital product that can last over time.

For this reason, we are working with highly qualified professionals to build a user-friendly and robust mobile application.

The launch phase will require several months of work of a team composed of developers, UX designers, QA testers and project managers. Meanwhile, we must launch the fundraising and the communication campaigns.

The cost of the launch is therefore very high and we need to collect the necessary funds to turn Bounty App into reality.
