In the beginning of January we saw signs of Boston not feeling the best. He had little blood-drops coming from his penis so we made an appointment for 10th of January at the vets to have a blood-test. The blood-test came back showing a little rise of creatinine (284 and urea, but the vet said we didn't have to do anything yet.
After three weeks his symptoms got worse, he vomited and had more discharge from his penis and so we booked another appointment at the clinic for Friday the 31st of January. The blood-test showed yet more rise of creatinine and urea and also that he had a nasty infection. He got prescribed antibiotics and booked another appointment for the ultrasound. Over the weekend on Saturday his general wellbeing got worse, he was vomiting the antibiotics out and and lacked appetite. So on Sunday I decided not to give those antibiotics that made him sick and called the vet on Monday morning to have them changed. The new antibiotics suited him better, the one given on Monday stayed in and he was also eating a little bit.
On Tuesday the 4th of February he had the ultrasound. The vet saw no signs of change in his kidneys but did see that his prostate has enlarged - thought to be probably benign enlargement and caused by the infection and that our female dog spreading smells of going into heat soon.
At this point the vet suggested to put him on special kidney support diet which we did. Mind you that at this point
