Campaign Story
I will be taking part in the 2018 World Challenge Borneo Expedition. Since 2010, ten World Challenge teams have participated in the Bear Action Team (BAT) at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. This centre is the only one of it's kind in the world and is currently home to 36 rescued bears. Read more at www.bsbcc.org.my/.
As a BAT volunteer I will have the opportunity to design and build essential infrastructure (e.g. boardwalks, fences, footbridges and trails) needed with the centre. During the project I will also have the chance to learn about the different types of sun bears and the reasons why the are in danger of becoming extinct and how we can protect them.
The funds raised for the expedition will cover travel expenses, materials required for the project and a donation the centre.
