Borneo Expedition 2013

I'm going on a World Challenge expedition to Borneo in July 2013 and need to raise a total of £3595.00 to get there! So far I've raised around £2000 but I still have a long way to go. In Borneo I'll be working in the Bario Highlands for the community phase of my project, building a relationship with the locals and helping them with renovation and construction. I, along with my group of 17, hope to teach some of the children basic English. During our expedition we will also be taking part in a challenging 5 day trek through the rainforest and several smaller day treks; all leading up to climbing Mt.Kinabalu, the 20th most prominent mountain in the world, reaching a summit of 4,095 metres.

I'm only fifteen now will be sixteen by the time of my trip and I hope that it will be a character building and life-changing experience. So far I have bag-packed, cake baked, dog walked, sold my clothes, sold toys and cds, done a sponsored abseil off of a suspension bridge, done car boot sales, written donation requests and babysat and I am currently planning a quiz night in my local community. Despite having many exams I'm working really hard to raise the money but as you can imagine it is extremely difficult to gather funds, so every penny counts!
