I am setting up a "free ideas" website for Coffs Harbour and I am looking for some seed funding to design the site and some ongoing funding to run the site.

What are "free ideas"? Well, have you ever looked around your town and thought "hey, wouldn't it be great if we had an eg canoe hire business on that river, or perhaps an amusement arcade in that street, or maybe a community garden in that park?" And then you have thought "Great idea! But I don't have the resources or contacts to get that idea off the ground".

Well, that is what this site will be about... floating ideas for new businesses, community projects, or new festivals or events, or even joint public/government ventures. The site will float the ideas and will allow feedback and comment via links and forums. Anyone who sees an idea they like will be able to run with it if they choose and can be put in contact with people or businesses who have registered an interest in being involved.

So, in short, this is about connecting people, ideas and resources to create new and exciting things in this town. If it works, Coffs Harbour could benefit greatly, both economically and culturally. If it the public response and involvement is really good, I will consider extending the site to other towns and cities.

So join in folks...anything you can offer to assist in site design would be greatly appreciated. I have had several quotes form local website designers and it looks like $4500 would be the set-up cost. I can fubnd some of this, but I can't cover it all. Please help me, and Coffs Harbour, if you can.
