Ayenyah D/A Basic is located in Ayenyah village in the Shai Osu Doku District . The school was established in 2005 by Orphan Aid Africa to provide education for the children living within the village of Ayenyah to help reduce the number of children not going to school. Around 2015 the school was handed over to the district Ghana Education Service in the Shai Osu-Doku District. Currently the district Ghana Education Service is not able to provide the needed school materials and administrative support for the school due to their financial challenges. As a result the students from Kindergarten through to Junior High School ( K - Grade 7) don't have text books, exercise books, pens, pencils, learning aids, teaching resources, and sports equipment which are all basic needs to help both students and teachers have an effective learning and teaching experience. Currently the school has a student population of 138 with a total of 17 teaching and administrative staff.

Due to the current state of the school, the school administration is forced to charge a Parent Teachers Association (PTA) dues of $3 per term to help to purchase teaching and learning resources for the students, this is not enough to purchase books and teaching resources for the school. With many of the parents earning as little as $5 dollars a month the PTA dues is forcing them to withdraw their children from school to stay at home and farm because they are not able to afford to pay the dues and at the same time cater for their child's daily upkeep.

Dynasty Basketball Academy (DBA) through our community outreach wing DBA Cares is supporting the district Ghana Education Service in Shai Osu-Doku District by developing a sustainable process of providing the needed learning and teaching resources, and sports equipment to enable both students and teachers have an effective learning and teaching experience. Proceeds from all DBA paid programs and events such as our Academy, Camps, and FIBA Endorsed 3x3 will go towards supporting this project.

DBA Cares Mission

Collaborating with individuals, volunteers, and organisations to sustainably support disadvantaged individuals and communities with better education, health care, and sports infrastructure.

Goals for supporting Ayenyah D/A Basic School are:

  • To sustainably provide school stationary and books for students and teachers each academic year.
  • To create student-centered character, academic and sports activities to encourage students to value character, education, and sports.
  • To assist students to be better prepared to write their Basic Education Certificate Exams (B.E.C.E).
  • To support high achieving academic and sport students with opportunities to further continue their education and participation in sport.
  • To promote basketball in schools located in the Shai Osu-Doku district

Your donation will go a long way to helping us to identify, and nurture future leaders living in disadvantaged communities who might be ignored due to the lack of educational and sporting opportunities.
