Books for Kupang
What is Kupang?
Kupang is an isolated island in Indonesia. This island is one of the closer islands to Timor Leste, a country that used to be a part of Indonesia. The children in the place we are donating to are unprivileged children because they are mostly thrown away because their parents can’t give them sufficient basic need as they continue to have babies. These children are then collected in an organization called Kupang Center which is a part of the K-Pact Organization.
What are we going to donate?
We are going to donate a set of encyclopedia, some books, and bookshelves. We are doing this because we know that the adults there are going to keep making babies and giving money to buy them food isn’t the best thing. Donating books is the best option because by doing so, we are educating them so that they can survive in this hard world and also to teach them that having babies and not being responsible is not the thing to do. (The children there are under a school/organization in which why are schooled)
What do we need?
We need an amount of over $1000 USD in order to successfully execute this plan. We are going to donate all of the money with some of the money we received from our local fundraiser to buy them a set of encyclopedia, books, and a book shelf. We are going to fund our own flight and accommodation with our own money.
Since, this is a donation opportunity to an underrated community we can’t give back much. However, if you donate over $100 we will send you a picture of the library and also a thank you note. (please email us about you donation)
