Campaign Story
The district of Purulia in West Bengal, India is one of the most economically backward yet culturally rich places in the country. An overwhelming majority of the population is tribal (Santals) and do not have access to basic amenities such as clean drinking water, transportation and books. This fund will essentially be used to buy books for community libraries to ensure that at least one student from every household in the area (Ushir, Santaldih, Purulia, West Bengal) has access to them. Most of the students are first generation learners and are very eager to learn but are often deprived of the conditions required for them to thrive. The tribal community receives little or no help from the state government and local authorities for the purchase of books and curriculum related reading material. ANY help, any help at all, will go a long way in providing a secure future for these forgotten communities.

Every cent you send will go towards buying books for first generation tribal students in one of the most backward places in the world. Even a dollar is enough to provide about 10 exercise books for a single student. Donate only if you feel your contribution can change lives, one book at a time.
