My name is Lilly Pollard and I'm a bodyboarder from the South COast of NSW.
I'm five times Australian Pro Tour champion and am currently in fourth place on the IBA World Tour.
Boobies and Bodyboarding is a fundraiser I have created to raise money for two important things in my life.
Basically, I'm looking to raise funds to help me fight for the IBA World Title this year and also help raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. http://www.nbcf.org.au
I love bodyboarding. It’s my passion. And I especially love competing on the IBA Women's World Tour.
My competitive highlight was winning the Encanto Pro in Puerto Rico a couple of years ago. Amazing waves, good vibes, and a super fun event. It was insane!
I love that competing makes me train harder, surf harder and just really push myself mentally and physically. I’m so appreciative of my experiences travelling on the world tour too.
I work a full time job, but it’s not a high paying job, so I struggle to afford the world tour expenses.
I have some great sponsors here that give me all the free equipment I need but my trips are currently all self-funded.
So, this is where I need your help. I’m currently fourth in the rankings and with four events remaining on the tour, I’ve still got a good shot at the IBA World Title! I’m really in need of extra money as my credit card is almost maxed out with flights.
I’m off to Portugal and Brazil on August 21 for the next two events on the world tour, and I’m in need of some support to pay for food, accommodation and transport.
The thing is, I don’t want this fundraiser to be just about me, So I’m going 50/50 with the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Breast cancer is a big issue in my family. Both my grandmothers passed away from the disease and my mum also suffered from a super aggressive form breast cancer, but thankfully she won her battle.
And it’s with thanks to organisations such as this that there is funding to help save people like my mum.
I’m more than happy to see 50% of this fundraiser go to the Nation Breast Cancer Foundation to help with research and treatments for this disease.
Whether it’s $5 or $50, every little bit helps, so thankyou so much for your support!
