Bone Marrow Transplant for Justine (College Graduate who wanted to be a teacher)

I am Justine John M. Tamayo and I was diagnosed with a cancer called non-hodgkins lymphoma last December 2017. The doctors advised that I should undergo 8 cycles of chemotherapy because the tumor in my lungs were growing so fast. My family and I don’t have enough money for my chemotherapy so we’re just asking help from charitable institutions.

I was a 4th year college student that time and I was taking the last semester of the year. I thought that I will not be able to graduate in college because that semester is our practice teaching and with my situation, I couldn't keep up with the study and the chemotherapy. Knowing that I have cancer, my professor helped me on my practice teaching. She only gave me lightweight work so that I will not be stressed because I was undergoing chemotherapy. The illness that I have didn't stop me to pursue studying and I am so blessed because I was able to graduate Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in Mathematics as a cumlaude.

While I am waiting for my next session of chemotherapy and don't have any hospital appointments, I am giving my best to spend my time serving on CFC- YFC or Youth for Christ. I believe that my faith in God will help me to become fully healed and sharing my experience to other youths will inspire them that problems are easy if you have faith in God.

After my chemotherapy, the tumor reoccurred and the doctors said that I should undergo 20 days of radiation therapy.

I started my radiation last December 2018 and as the therapy goes by, the tumor is getting smaller and smaller. But after the radiation therapy, another tumor had sprouted on my neck. The doctors said that my cancer is highly aggressive that’s why it will go back again and again. So the doctors planned that I should undergo another chemotherapy. This time, it is only for 6 cycles. All of the finances that we were using for my medicines came from the help of charitable institutions and the church. Right now, I am on my 4th cycle of chemotherapy. The doctors said that I am a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. This transplant will be conducted after my chemotherapy maybe 2 or 3 months from now because they said that the tumor will stop from reoccurring if i will be having the transplant.

In line with that, I am humbly asking for your help for me to have funds for my bone marrow transplant which costs 350,000 pesos. My family and I will be very grateful with any amount that you can give for my transplant. I really need your assistance and support because I want to use my bachelor’s degree to become a teacher someday after I am cured in. Thank you very much and God bless you all.
