What does it mean to make a sacrifice?

We may not stumble on the word sacrifice in our everyday conversation but we always experience it every single day.

As a parent, we always make sure that we can provide the needs of our family even if sometimes taking risks is okay just to make our ends meet.

When was the last time that you made a sacrifice for someone even if the aftermath would be so devastating to you but you still did it? I know someone that made that kind of a sacrifice. His name is Enrique Celocia, 40 years of age and a father of 2. He was a former street vendor in Lapulapu City and his last job was as a security guard.

As a street vendor, it is not all the time that you get a lot of customers buying your goods especially comes the unpredictable weather and sometimes you get no customers at all.

Soon after he decided to get a job as a security guard at least you get a steady paycheck. After years of working, it took a toll on his body and the result was devastating. He was diagnosed with Acute Aplastic Leukemia and is a very serious illness.

He was hospitalized last October 12, 2019 but soon went home because they cannot afford to stay longer. Again there was a need for them to go back to the hospital last December 14 and spent Christmas there. He was then discharged December 28 again with the same reason for not having enough funds.
