Help Elena fundraise her Bone Marrow Transplant

I hope this finds you in good health and with much happiness!

You may or may not know this, but on June 7th 2018, I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukaemia M1 (type of blood cancer).

I was perfectly healthy, working a job, running household errands and had no previous encounters with cancer whatsoever. My life had taken an unimaginable turn and now it looks like everyday hospital routine.

Thankfully, as of today I have passed 3 phases of chemotherapy with great amount of support from my loved ones. What lies ahead tough is the toughest and in my case the most critical part of my treatment: BMT also know as Bone Marrow Transplant or blood stem cell transplant. A process in which the unhealthy blood-forming cells are replaced with healthy ones. My sister was tested for a possible allogeneic transplant but did not match the compatibility.

Therefore we decided to seek bone marrow donors from Russia and Germany. The search results for my which will be announced in November. If no donors are found through the register, I will go thru a stem cell transplant with my daughter (a procedure deemed highly precarious as it has not been in practice for too long).

In Russia the State pays only for the transportation. The search for a donor, the preparation of the transplant and its delivery to the clinic where the transplantation is performed are not undertaken by the state. I can undergo a transplant in Jan-Feb 2019 if I am lucky enough to get an allotment according to the state assignment.

The Bone Marrow Examination along with its delivery are working upto over 25000 €. An endless number of tests, medications and other expenses which are not paid by the state have all taken a toll on myself and my family. We are seeking for your help & support. Any contribution big or small will be highly appreciated by me and my family.
