Bognor Regis former Town Mayor Paul Wells will be running in the Bognor 10k on Sunday the 18th May 2014. Paul has been training since January and joined a local running club Tone Zone Runners based at the Arun Leisure Centre.
Paul's aims for this particular event are to raise important funds as part of his Mayoral year for his chosen charity, the Bognor Pier Trust, but also to set a personal goal of completing the Bognor 10k.
About the Bognor Pier Trust
In Partnership with the operating company, Bognor Pier Leisure Ltd, we are planning to investigate the possibility of preserving, restoring and enhancing the Pier, as part of the overall regeneration of Bognor Regis.
The Pier is without doubt one of the most loved and unique buildings in our Town. So,along with with the owner, Mr John Ayres, we are planning to investigate the possibility of bringing the pier back into community ownership through a new trust to assist with preserving, restoring and enhancing it, as part of the overall regeneration of Bognor Regis.
We would love to see it one day returned to the elegant and traditional pier it once was, and at the very least to secure its future, by protecting it from further damage or loss to its’ structure.
We do hope the people of Bognor Regis and the surrounding Towns and Villages will support our aim and help us to achieve some real results. Please tell all your friends about the Friends of Bognor Regis Pier and ask them to ‘like’ us. We will keep everyone updated with news, fundraising events, and other ways you can help us to help the pier.
Of course, reinstating our beloved Pier to its’ former glory won’t happen overnight, but if we are united in our wish to really make something happen, anything is possible!
