Body Mind and Spirit

Hello my name is Edward Rishkofski, and the picture you see is my grandson Tyler. He has cerebral palsy. Although he is smart as can be, but he is unable to talk. He is my inspiration for a not for profit organization. It will be called Body Mind and Spirit Inc. It will be called that, because of the stages of the organization. It will be to help all disabled people. The first step is to get funding for setting up the NPO. Hiring a lawyer and bookkeeping firm to make sure that everything is done right and in order. Then renting/leasing a space to start the foundation.

I want to keep the non profit self funded as much as possible. For that I want do things different than others have done. We have all seen organizations with a thrift shop for funding. I want to start with a restaurant that serves healthy organic food. Everyone needs to eat, right? Why not eat healthy, and knowing it’s going to a good cause helps. This is where I believe most of the funding will come from. This takes care of the body.

 Next to treat the mind is through learning. In all stages of the organization there will be building. While its being built there will be a chance to learn a profession. A type of on the job training with safety in mind of course. Also, teaching things like sewing, knitting and crocheting, candle making. Something as simple as a donated car can be used to teach engine repair, and body shop repair. Broken furniture can be repaired, painted and resold. The simple satisfaction of doing a job well done can provide a sense of self worth. This is the beginning of the last phase.

We all must create a belief of something greater than our self. Our spirit must be fed just as our body, and mind. A Spiritual Center of all belief’s can allow each to choose what works best for them.
