Campaign Story
The 'Gizmo' is one of the most effective sabbing tools when used correctly. It is a recording of hounds in cry, which, when played through an amplifier, has a dramatic effect on hounds when they are onto the scent of a live quarry. The hounds will automatically redirect towards the sound of the gizmo, thinking that's where the party is, and this allows us to divert them away from the animal that they are chasing. As the gizmo is such an effective tool, and can prevent a kill by a hair's breadth in some cases, it is hated by hunt people, who will go out of their way to try and steal the device, often using violence against sabs in their attempts. Some time ago, sabs decided that a 'silent' Gizmo could be an effective tool that would not be detected by hunt people, and sabs could avoid being chased, threatened and arrested by developing this new piece of sabbing technology.
The Gizmo operates at a sound frequency which can be heard by dogs and other animals, but does not operate within the hearing range of most adults (children are still able to detect the sound). We began developing the silent Gizmo last year, and aim to have it tested and in working use for Alston Hare Week in October 2015. To do this, we need to enlist the help of a sound production engineer, who will be providing their services for free, as well as purchasing two high wattage amplifiers with built-in MP3 players and rechargeable batteries http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LTC-MEGA60USB-60W-MEGAPH.... As most of our spare cash goes on fuel and vehicle upkeep we are asking for help to develop this tool which will hopefully prove to be invaluable in saving lives. Thank you for your help - from Lancaster hunt sabs and Central Lancashire sabs.
