Campaign Story
My friends John Whitelaw and Tom Shearer intend shortly to walk the 200 miles from Leon to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. In doing so they hope to raise funds for the East Kilbride Visually Impaired Group.
This group comprises of about 25 visually impaired members who meet for about 2 hours a week to socialise and have various forms of entertaiment including singers , in house singing, talks, card bingo, quizzes etc.
The great benefit of the group is that they can assist and comfort those where necessary, in coming to terms with sight loss. This is the only group in East Kilbride.
Funding at present arises from £3 weekly members fees, donations and any successful grant application.
