Meet Liezl with baby on the way, her husband Boyet, and their daughter Lean. They are our kapit-bahay (neighbours) and they were severely affected by Typhoon Rai. We would like to help them rebuild their house, as well as other families in the village, by raising funds for construction materials such as bricks, roofs, etc. Your donation will help change the lives of these people, who were already struggling before the storm hit.

3 weeks ago, the storm devastated the little fishermen’s village we live in. Most are somehow able to reconstruct their houses with the little savings they had, but unfortunately, families’ like Liezl’s barely have enough to even buy food. Their livelihood includes fishing, raising lobsters and cultivating seaweed. However, the storm had swept away their livelihood, and it may take a long time before the ecosystem is re-established. This leaves many villagers having to find other ways to make a living in the meantime, such as selling used bottles; which is of course, less profitable.

For the moment, the extra money they make goes to rebuilding their homes. Your donations, in any amount, will be greatly appreciated by these families.
