Campaign Story
The X for Boys program purchased 3 buildings in July of 2021. These 3 buildings will serve as the school campus for The Life Preparatory School for Boys that will be opening in fall of 2022.
After purchasing these buildings, we immediately started to give back to that community by doing a free breakfast project, as well as the weekly book club to combat the low literacy rates.
Now that we’ve been giving back to the community, it’s time to focus on renovating and expanding our school and resource center.
We have gotten quotes and estimates from local contractors and we will need to have $50k for renovations and expansion.
It is imperative for us to provide options for parents in the city of Albany. They don’t have school choice because there are no other options. After the local school system tried to very subtly, halt our school from opening, we still were able to buy something else make it happen on a more impoverished side of town.
We want to raise this money by Christmas for the boys so we can get started at the beginning of the year! The boys will work on their own school!
