$200 for medical tests is a lot in Rwanda. Especially when you have been going from doctor to doctor trying to figure out why you are weak, vomiting, have sore breasts, etc. Even more so because COVID-19 has dried up money in the local economy.

Patience is a 30-some year Rwandan young woman who has been told she has hormone problems for years. Finally she got to a doctor who gave her a diagnosis of polycystic ovaries. .The doctor ordered tests to determine the right treatment.

The cost of all tests ordered s 190,000 Rwandan Francs which is about 200 US dollars. She still needs medications and probably more tests as some of her symptoms may not be related to the polycystic disease. In October 2021 alone, over 400 US dollars has already been spent on medical care. There is no more money.

That is why I am asking you to help me raise $750 for her diagnoses, ongoing evaluation and treatment.

I am an American who knows too much about undiagnosed longstanding medical issues. This is not about me except that currently I have been "technically" stranded in East Africa/Rwanda since 2020. I was here when COVID-19 exploded and KLM stopped flights from the area 10 days before my return flight. My weak immune system and the unpredictability of where I would be exposed to segments of people not taking precautions means it is not safe for me to be int he US. Rwanda (East Africa) is actually doing a decent job of managing the pandemic with what they have.

Patience has a job with me. Yes, I started a business to help women since COVID is not going away. Jobs for people her age are hard to come by in this part of the world. She is talented and fortunate.

Let's get her back on her feet.
