Help for Nica’s rising hospital bills due to COVID

Good day everyone. I am knocking on your kind hearts and immeasurable generosity in raising funds for my ate, Veronica (Nica) Presto-Rabanillo and our family.

My sister was second to the eldest among the siblings. She had finished college as a scholar and at the age of 20, she became the breadwinner of the family. My sister is very giving. It seems like she’s doing it like she was responsible for it, even if no one’s asking her to do so. That did not stop even when she has her own family. Now, she has two kids, a 1-year old boy (a very cute one) and a 2year old girl (our sweetest baby girl). My sister loves her family so much.

Last Sunday, April 18, Ate Nica started coughing and having flu-like symptoms, so she started to isolate herself. The next day, she had herself tested and she tested negative for COVID-19. However, after a few days, her fever was persistent; she gasped for air as she talk and eat. So on April 21, she was rushed to the emergency room where she was then diagnosed with COVID-19.

Little did we know, even with her early isolation, one by one, some of our family members started to feel weak and encountered flu-like symptoms as well. There are currently 11 people (2 senior citizens, 3 babies, 1 kid and 5 adults) in the household and they all need to be tested as well. There are only three breadwinners in the family, including Ate Nica. As much as possible, our family doesn’t want to seek financial help. However, given our current situation, it is really hard to cope up with the rising hospital bills. The RT-PCR alone already costs P33,000. My sister was advised to be admitted for 14 days and her running bill for two days is already P169,020.

Hence, we are asking for your kind hearts to help my family overcome this crisis. Any amount of support will be much appreciated. Excess money will be donated to other COVID-19 patients in need.
