Campaign Story
Dear Friends,
I am humbly reaching
out for our Dad's medical and healing expenses. Our dad, Narciso Vila, suffered from stroke last 29 September. But due to the Covid-19 situation it was difficult to get him admitted even in the emergency rooms. In the end, after going to six different hospitals, we were advised to bring him home and wait until a room becomes available. During that time he had to be fed via NGT. His scans showed that the left part of his brain was damaged which resulted to him being partially paralyzed.
Fast forward to two weeks (and after testing negative for Covid-19), he was finally admitted to Adventist Medical Center Manila, with the help and efforts of our family’s friends. While his condition stabilized somehow, the doctor advised to have the NGT removed and instead replace it with a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube.
The doctors were about to clear him for discharge, however, on 17 October they suspected that he could have pneumonia. After having a chest x-ray, the pulmonologist concluded that he needs the support of an oxygen tank due to low levels of oxygen. However, it was not enough and he had to be intubated and transferred to an ICU room.
Despite the situation, we remain to have strong faith in God and extremely grateful to relatives and friends who have extended their support. Their prayers especially had given him the strength to fight and hold on. We know that this year has been difficult for all of us. But we are also hoping that you can pray for our dad’s recovery and we’re also humbly asking for donation to support his medications and hospital bills. At present, the hospital bill is already in an overwhelming amount and it is expected that a huge amount will be added as he stays longer in the hospital. The cost of feeling better can be exorbitant and it seems like the bills never stops. We want to give our Dad the best care possible during and post hospitalization through your help.
No donation is too big or small. Any amount will be of big help.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this post and may God bless you!
