Dear devotee parents, grandparents, and well-wishers,

My name is Teja Gaurangi dd, and I want to share with you a Krishna conscious project that I have recently started. But before that, I would humbly ask you to take a minute and think about the importance of our parenting role. We all share the same goal: we want our children to walk the path of Krishna consciousness and to be engaged in devotional service of the Lord according to their capacities. Also, we want to see our children grow up into mature and functioning adults, capable of finding their place in the world and contribute to the preaching mission of Srila Prabhupada. As parents, we have a capacity (and responsibility) to help our children reach that goal. All the future achievements of our children begin to sprout from the family nest. And because we are a community, we need help and support from each other to fulfill our parenting role for the pleasure of the Lord.

Recently I have started to write a blog to support devotee families on their parenting journey and to offer some resources they can use in raising and educating their children in Krishna conscious and healthy way. My goal is to give my readers rich and valuable content every week:

- Stories from Srimad Bhagavatam and other scriptures, suitable for young children, along with themes for discussion and practical, dramatic, or artistic work connected to the story.

- Informative articles on topics related to raising children in a way favorable for Krishna consciousness – themes like discipline, emotional and physical health, behavioral challenges, parent-child relationship, developmental stages of a growing child, temperaments, etc.

- Ideas and resources from my homeschooling classroom for teaching children different subjects in connection to Krishna consciousness.

My vision is to create an educative and inspiring place on the internet, with relevant articles on regular basis, where devotee families could find inspiration and support on their parenting journey, and devotee teachers and homeschoolers resources for their teaching. I believe that families who live far away from a community of devotees (like we are, and there are many around the world) would get the most benefit from this blog. They need more support and encouragement because they are raising children mostly on their own in circumstances that are not always favorable for spiritual life. My sincere hope is that, by reading my blog, they will get that. I want to help them by offering some simple tools and ideas that would empower them to raise and educate their children in the most favorable way according to their personal needs and circumstances. They will get ideas about what kind of activities to do with their children, about creative ways to resolve problem issues with children, and how to present the spiritual stories and ideas so that children would be intrigued and engaged. What is my credibility to offer this kind of support to the families, maybe you are asking?

In my youth, I graduated from a pedagogical high school. I was about to start college, Faculty of Literature, but I left it and went to India on an adventurous journey after which I joined ISKCON. Very soon, I got married, and have never continued my academic education. Still, my interest in pedagogy has never vanished, and it woke up again fully when I got my first child 9 years ago. Since then, I have done a lot of research about parenting and education, mainly through the relevant books and the internet. As a housewife and stay at home mom, I have spent most of my time with the kids. Being with them, I have entered the world of stories and imagination, in which small children naturally live. Storytelling has become a regular activity in our home, which over time has developed into simple theatre, puppetry, and dramatic play. According to my research and experience, storytelling is the best teaching method for young children (nursery, preschool, and early grades). Over time I have learned from professionals more about the educational and healing aspect of storytelling, about ways to use puppetry and dramatic arts in teaching young children. At the moment, I am on my way to complete a Child Psychology course to deepen my knowledge. Most importantly, I am passionate to work with children and to assist them in their growth, and to share my knowledge and homeschooling experience with others for the benefit of all.

Most resources I present on the blog are free for personal and non-commercial use, as my humble attempt to serve our community. In the future, I plan to create some materials I would sell for a reasonable price, like the stories I have written and some teaching resources, as well as my natural handmade decoration and play dolls, and to make the blog self-sufficient in that way. But I need some help until I reach that goal.

Our family is one of many affected by the global pandemic. My husband, Ivesvara Dasa, lost his job, and now he works on our small piece of land, providing the food for our family. I am trying to get some work as a freelance writer and homeschool our two kids. In the meantime, I write for the blog. We are under great financial pressure, but I have a desire to continue with this service. That is why I have started this campaign - to humbly ask devotees and well-wishers for some financial support to help me in the beginning stages of my work on the blog until I come to the point that I can gain some income out of it. I predict it will take me about a year or two. I need time to create all the resources and to develop my list of readers. It is not realistic to expect it to be done immediately or in a few months. Since I have to work other jobs to provide for our family, it would be difficult to maintain regular writing for the blog. If I could get some financial support, it would help me to spend more time writing for the blog instead for other people. Also, it could be a preaching project as well, because I plan to write and organize the blog in such a way that both devotees and non-devotees can find a use of it. It will be an open space for all who are interested in parenting or homeschooling with a spiritual purpose, and, hopefully, it could promote our devotional culture and tradition wider than to the circle of ISKCON devotees.

The most suitable support would be to sponsor the blog on the monthly basis. There are many websites and blogs on the internet which runs on donations (including most ISKCON websites). Mostly the amount of monthly donation starts from 10 up to 250 EURO (or USD). We would be mostly please and grateful for any amount in that range.

In conclusion, dear devotees and dear friends, this project greatly depends on your mercy and kindness. You can take a look at the blog here https://golokadreamland.com/ For more details about our services to the ISKCON movement you can read here https://golokadreamland.com/our-devotional-backgro...

At the beginning of the campaign, prior to starting it on this website, we have got support from our devotee friends Jagath Pavana Krishna Das and Ekantha Gopi dd, as well as from our respected wellwishers HH Jayapataka Swami, HH Krishna Kshetra Swami, and HG Anuttama Prabhu (Tom Morrison). Later on, we got a donation through this campaign from Bojan Vidakovic (Vedic astrologer), Premaniketana Prabhu and his wife Yamuna from the UK, Madhurya Lila Madhavi Mataji from Germany, and Vaishnava Prabhu from the UK. I use this opportunity to offer my sincere gratitude to them.

Thank you for stopping by and reading this campaign! If you find my project a valuable contribution to our Vaishnava society, please support it and give your blessings to become a success!

Your servant,

Teja Gaurangi dd
