Hi, my name's Cerisse and this is my family. My oldest sister is the one in the middle wearing gray shirt. Looking at this recent photo, my heart sinks as I can see how her body deteriorated in just months.

Last March, just after our city announced a lockdown she got sick with fever and cough. Thinking it was Covid, we decided to have her in self quarantine without her getting tested, hoping self medication would help. She got rid of the fever but her cough didn't as weeks passed, she started to have a really hard time breathing in point that she wants to get admitted and want to get tested for Covid-19 already. She was tested negative but was diagnosed with tuberculosis and the doctor found out she had water in her lungs, in the end she had a surgery. She went home to recover, but weeks passed she wasn't getting any better. She was always bloated, her feet swelled, still had a hard time breathing, still she kept on taking her meds but we knew something else was wrong.

She finally got another consultation with a cardiologist. It turns out the dose of the meds prescribed for her was too much for her weight (She lost too much after the surgery), and she has a heart ailment called Mitral Valve Prolapse that she was diagnosed in years ago, which her heart has an extra murmur. She was advised then that it was only minimal as long as it's getting checked regularly, but having the tuberculosis plus wrong dose of the meds had made it worse, why the swelling of her feet and having a hard time breathing continued. She is now preparing for her open-heart surgery where they'll temporarily fix the function of her heart's valve, which will be estimated to be good for 10 years before having another surgery for it again. They've estimated the whole thing, including the surgery, the doctor's fee, ICU, her stay in a hospital room for a week to recover to be around PHP 1,000,000 or around $200,000. We're almost at our goal, we already sold a property and asked our relatives to lend us money but it's still not suffice.

So, I'm asking for my family's behalf to lend us a hand for my sister's better health. Any kind of amount will surely help us, I've set a minimum goal that I've estimated to what we still needed. Thank you very much.

Sister's surgery

Update posted by Cerisse Salvador at 04:38 am

My sister finally had her surgery yesterday, September 26, 2020 and it was a success 🙏🏻🙏🏻💗 She woke up that night and was transferred to the ICU. After 3 days there, I'll be with her to recover more for 7 days. I'll update again with photos when I get there.
