In these unsure times, each of us is considering what we can do to help each other, our community, and particularly the healthcare workers on the frontline helping beat the Covid-19 pandemic.

My name is Ashley Lagat and I was born and raised in Naval, Biliran in the Philippines. I am currently living in New York working as an emergency nurse. I created this campaign because the virus is slowly spreading in my beautiful province. I am also a Covid survivor and it was a life and death journey. I do not wish anyone to go through what I’ve been through. I know that the lives of the frontliners are especially at risk.

My province’s healthcare system has limited resources. Let's give back to our modern day heroes that protect us from this pandemic by protecting their health and safety too. They have sacrificed so much in this battle. In order to prevent the growth and development of the corona virus in Biliran, I started this fundraising campaign to put up a sanitation tent in our provincial hospital.

A sanitation tent is a 1mx2mx3m enclosure with a misting machine and an upgraded UV light for sterilization. This will provide an easy, effective, and efficient way for medical personnel to disinfect and reduce the spread of the virus. This is especially helpful for healthcare workers since they sometimes have to reuse PPEs due to lack of supply or lack of time to change. More information about how sanitation tents can be read on an article here: https://bit.ly/sanitation_tent.

I already have communicated with a certified company that can provide this to our province. The goal is to raise P150,000. This includes the tent, the misting device, UV light, chemical spray, delivery and installation. In case the campaign goes over the goal, all excess funds will be used to buy more disinfecting chemicals, operational expenses and other equipment for healthcare workers such as masks and PPEs. However, if the excess is enough, I would purchase an isolation tent or another sanitation tent to donate to other health centers in Biliran.

I humbly seek your support not for me but for my home back in Biliran . Any amount donated goes a long way towards this good cause and will be greatly appreciated. I know that times are hard for everyone right now but no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Since I know that every donation counts, I will be transparent with the funds I receive from this campaign.

For the donors, I will constantly update this campaign throughout the project so you can see the impact of your help. I will post photos, videos and other important events to keep you updated.

If you want to know more about the project or if you are not able to donate here at GoGetFunding.com, please contact me at [email protected]. You can also contact my dad, Martin Lagat, who is currently in Naval, Biliran at 09176295036.

Let us inspire each other. Let us help one another.
