Lola Maridol’s Battle with Leukemia

Leukemia never asks permission when it barges into someone's life. We've all seen it portrayed on various classical and modern films, yet do believe us when we tell you that no tear-jerking leukemia movie could ever prepare you with the sorrow of having the most important person in your life battle with leukemia.

Watching helplessly as our once robust grandmother, the only remaining pillar of our lives, stares at us as if to say that 'everything's going to be alright' while unusual bruises and swells started appearing in her body was the most devastating stage of our lifetime.

After she got diagnosed with Lymphocytic Leukemia, overwhelming agony, distress and fright washed over us as we seek for ways to give her a better fighting chance against this vicious home-wrecking disease.

Due to our panic over her worsening condition, we immediately brought her to the nearest available hospital at Unihealth ,Paranaque where she was directly transferred to the ICU ward. As of this moment, she is still undergoing tests after tests while her medical bill skyrockets.

The doctor was very fortright in telling us that her medical bill can go as high as Php 500,000 especially after incurring a bill of Php 120,000 after a single night. Despite our family's effort, it is still too difficult for our family to come up with this amount.
