Renina, Nini, or Ninay. That's what friends and loved ones fondly call my sister--my sister who for almost 3 decades has been fighting against a chronic kidney disease.

She was first diagnosed with the disease during the early 1990s. Shortly after both her kidneys failed and she had to undergo a transplant. By God's will, our only brother is a perfect a match so the transplant pushed through. However almost a decade later, a cyst grew and the kidney was rejected. Since then my sister has been undergoing hemodialysis for 2 to 3 times a week.

It hasn't been an easy journey for her and for our family. We've had our fair share of hitting rock bottom but by God's grace and with the help of relatives, friends, and strangers, we've always managed to get by financially, mentally, and emotionally.

Last year we were looking forward to the possibility of my sister undergoing another transplant thanks to a volunteer donor, but in the eve of Christmas 2019 she was rushed to the hospital because of complications in her dialysis treatment. Her blood pressure dropped as well as her heart beat. Since then she's been in and out of the hospital every month. Right now she is confined at the National Kidney Transplant Institute because she needs to undergo a surgery to create a new dialysis access, but she is struggling keeping her vital signs steady as a result of the body's reaction to years and years of medical treatment.

We are knocking on the door of your hearts to request some financial help during these trying times, especially with the pandemic being a threat to the income of our family. We are doing our best to raise the money necessary for the surgery and hospital bills among ourselves but we will only be able to achieve the amount needed with your help.

We thank you in advance for whatever help you will be able to extend to our sister, our family. We will lift your generosity up to God and keep you in our prayers. Maraming maraming salamat! Thank you very much!

This is our sister with the love of her life, Boogie, who has been with her all throughout
