Campaign Story
Mateo Dominiq Rin, 5 year old male, born healthy on October 6, 2014. Everything went well, but when Mateo turned 3 months old, we noticed something unusual to his feet, lips and nails. We went to the hospital to check his condition, and he was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease and Atrioventricular Septal Defect. There are holes between the chambers of the right and left sides of his heart, and the valves that controls the flow of blood between these chambers were not correctly formed. He was advised to undergo operation called Cardiac Cath, it is a monitoring process in which the catheter with camera will be inserted from his inner thighs going to his heart and the Glenn Shut, is the main process for the operation of his heart. The doctor advised us to undergo with the procedure while he was still a toddler because it is more accurate to take it at that age rather than when he is older. We wanted to do that as early as advised, but due to lack of financial support we cant proceed with the operation. Since then, our family gets worried every time he plays, cries or walk for too long because his lips, nails and face turns blue and cannot breathe normally Due to the sensitivity of his condition, he is very prone to catch virus, bacteria & diseases. Last March 11, 2020 Mateo was diagnosed with Urinitary Track Infection and Pneumonia. He was advised to be admitted to the hospital but, because of Covid-19 pandemic, all the hospitals we went through rejected him. The doctor just gave him antibiotics and was self medicated at home. Not knowing that other complication has occurred. Last May 1, 2020, he suffered Mild Stroke. He was admitted to Phil. Heart Center for immediate care and later on transferred to East Avenue Hospital. The Doctors findings was Intracranial Abscess wherein there is a pus on his brain due to the abnormality of blood flowing to his brain. The pus needs to be removed immediately through surgery and needs to put a tube on his brain to drain the pus. The process will take 6-8 months in the hospital or until he fully recovers. I want to write this letter to appeal to your kind hearts and seek for financial support for his medication and operation. Your help will greatly be appreciated and hope it return to you in thousand folds. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
