Sahainan Permaculture Organic Farm, Ban Huay Yang, Ban Huay Phan and Ban Pek Klang are the farm and villages that located in Thung Chang and Chiang Klang district, Nan Province, Northern Thailand. In these villages and the permaculture organic farm, we are the farmers that plant for foods and sustain ourselves with the food that harvested from the food forest nearby us.

Backdate, we are suffering from seasonal forest fire and water shortage issue that caused by the insufficient supply from government in around February to May. The forest fire even deteriorate the water shortage situation in villages. The water shortage issues is getting more common for the villagers and this issue causes them dare not think to plant more vegetables and eatable plants in the farm. But then, Nan river is just right to their side, flowing whole year, no one ever thinks to store these precious water for usage due to the deficiency of knowledge, exposure and financial support. However Sandot, as an experienced electrical engineer and farmer from Sahainan Permaculture Organic Farm, see the possibilities of water storage from Nan River because he has successfully installed the solar system that contribute to the water management in his own farm and others. Therefore, we are keen to solve these forest fire and water shortage issues by installing the solar power system that pump the water around the farm areas. The solar system benefits three villages and one permaculture organic farm where this system allows us to have enough water for forest fire rescuing, plants irrigation, water supply for the villagers usage and last but not least to sustain our food forest.

Besides that, by installing this solar system, we do not rely much on the electricity that generated from burning coals that harm the environment to pump the water around the farm areas. We wish to stay sustainably by the daily practices in life meanwhile to solve the environmental issues around us with the least harmful environmental effect.

However, this initiative costs us USD 3500 (Around 115,000 Baht) and this is the big amount for all of us here. We are seeking the supports from the public and we wish you can be one part of us to solve the issues together! Solving the issue together with just one click to donate to us! We are looking forward to hear from you and we are very welcoming you to visit us and our farm to see the solar power system if there is a chance to do so!

  • Dear Farming Brothers and Sisters in the Thung Chang and Chiang Klang district, Nan Province, Northern Thailand. We send our love to you from China and the Philippines. We are fellow farmers who believe in growing healthy and safe foods using permaculture to not only improve the productivity of the land and lift rural communities out of poverty, but also using this eco-friendly farming technique to restore the soil nutrients and organic carbon to reverse climate change, and reduce the need for chemical farm inputs, as well as restore ground water supplies and even serve as a sanctuary for some wildlife. We believe permaculture this is a powerful technology which when designed properly and at scale can help humankind find harmony with nature. Our best wishes to your water reservoir and solar powered pumping project - we hope this will successfully alleviate the water scarcity in your area and revive your farms and people's morale. Finally, we send you Blessings of Love, Joy, Good Heath, Abundance and the Peace the passes all understanding - Bliss. Namaste. With Compassion, Steve Tan (Shanghai, China)
