Help Mama Elsa Fight Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Bone Metastasis

Mama Elsa, as fondly called by us, her 7 children, is one of the people whom we call our "Bagong Bayani". Choosing to leave the Philippines to support us as a single widowed parent, she worked as a Domestic Helper in Hongkong for more than 2 decades, even without a working visa and as a "TNT". A common reality among our unsung heroes and impoverished families here in the Philippines. They are, as we all know, sacrificing one's self in order to provide for the whole family.

By 2017, Mama Elsa began experiencing bone pains which was eventually diagnosed as Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Bone Metastasis by January 29, 2018. Her diagnosis caused her to surrender to the authorities and she was jailed for Over Staying in Hongkong until April 2018. Due to her peaceful surrender and illness, her sentence was lessened and she was able to go back here in the country to us, her children, after more than 20 years.

From 2018 to today, her condition has worsened and she can no longer walk, stand, let alone sit in her bed as the cancer has metastasized to her spine. Despite the extremely strong painkillers she is taking she is left awake every night due to the extreme pain. She has been prescribed with Osimertinib but due to its cost (Php100,000.00 per month) we are unable to buy it for her. She is also taking Zolendronic acid which cost around Php10,000.00 per month among other expenses.

Allow us to take care for her this time as she has done for us all our lives. With the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we are at an even financial distress than ever before. Allow us to help her to manage the pain as she does not deserve it after being a hero for more than 2 decades. Allow us to enjoy more time with her as much as possible.

Lastly, let’s not forget to include Mama Elsa in our thoughts and prayers.

She is my mom and now is in very need of help especially financially as we can't provide all her needs especially her oral cancer medicine. She is suffering more and more each day and we couldn't risk getting her to hospital in this time of pandemic.
