Hello Kindred Spirits around the world,

Last week Costa Rica closed its borders due to the pandemic that the whole world is facing. All our Yoga Teacher Trainings, Healing retreats have been cancelled for 2020. We desperately need your help to feed all our horses and all our other family of animals that have become part of our lives and depend upon us.

I have dedicated myself and my life to help and heal all beings where and when needed. I created and founded Kindred Spirits Wellness Academy for horses and humans many years ago on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, in the jungle, where we have lived for 25 years.

We started with 4 horses and now have 8, 4 of which were rescue horses. We work and play with them only using positive reinforcement methods at liberty, clicker training, meditation and Yoga, creating a safe space for human and horses, where connection builds the bond between us.

We also have our yoga school where we give Yoga Teacher Training for students, as well as healing programs and retreats with our Equine Assisted Yoga Therapy sessions.

I hope to continue to create a safe place for all Beings, humans and animals alike, to rediscover themselves, to heal and to help others heal.

In these difficult times , like so many and everyone in this world today, we have been struggling, but now with the fall and lock down of countries, we have lost everything. Cancellation for all YTT, retreats and classes and we are left with nothing. Providing for horses, rescue cats and dogs takes a lot of commitment and sacrifice and my daughters and I, and our volunteers have always done this with an open heart, unconditional love and joy. Our life is about healing and compassion for all life. We are now in a position where we have no funds at all to feed the 8 horses. We are also responsible for Ramon, a 45 year old Tico that works on the farm, if we cannot pay him, he has nothing and will starve. He has no where to go and he loves the farm and the horses.

We are doing everything we can to help take care of our animals, Ramon and ourselves. We are inititiating online courses for people who are stuck at home, to meditate, heal and find relief from stress, worry and fear. As well as an online Yoga Teacher Training, which Yoga Alliance is giving permission for a certain period to Yoga Schools. We are planting in our garden everywhere, food for us and the horses. But this will all take time. We are fighters and strong, but right now we are financially broke, unable to pay the electricity at the end of the month, just the basics ,we no longer will be able to afford.

I would like to introduce you to our horse friends:

Greyjoy, a 17 year old Iberian horse who has escaped death 3 times. He was to be put down before we bought him. Here we have to pay for horses to save them. He loves people and children and loves to kiss and lick your hands. He is our initial Yogi horse and loves to just stand and meditate and sometimes fall asleep, when we do yoga together with him. He is also The Escape Artist, hell find the weak part of the fence, the go right through it like a bulldozer, just to graze on the other side or come see what we are doing at the house.

Shiloh, a 17 year old Peruvian Paso, who is the king of the mountain and makes sure everyone knows it. We are very connected and he spends a lot of time in my head, he always knows what I am about to do! He is also "Houdini" and can unlock any door, rope knot or bolt. He watches you tie the knot and when you don't look, with his lips he unties and is out! He is out, and goes and gets everyone else out, then takes them off to the local diner (the food bins in the barn)!

Anya, our 17 year old Costa Rican gaited horse, and lead mare. No horse messes with her, one flick of the ear and they pay attention, we do too! She is well loved by all and is the healer. She is connected to each horse and person and will come handstand by you to heal.

Shad, our 16 year old Egyptian Arabian, airy, mystical magical fairy horse, so soft and gentle and sweet and fearless. She loves our meditations and will stand by someone she feels needs emotional help to heal. She is also mummy to our darling little Mashal.

Nahar, he is a 9 year old Andalusian. He takes each moment in life quietly and calm, no rush, take it easy, is his outlook to life. He loves to dance with us a liberty, running free beside us, dancing and playing. Father to Mashal.

Little Mashal, 2 years and son to Nahar and Shad. He is the absolute complete mix of mother and father. Light and airy, yet grounded and solid, gentle and sweet, yet strong and dependable. He is gorgeous and loving and it just makes you feel good to be around him.

Maximus, a 9 year old Aztec (1/2 Quarter horse and 1/2 Andalusian) came to us as a number branded on his butt, a horse with no name. He was shut down, the obedient little cow horse, but no light in his eyes, he had given up on humans. A few months woking with him in meditation, in sharing time together just being, playing at liberty, his eyes began to shine and he was awoken. Now he is our funniest, most playful and engaging horse. We play with him at liberty free on the beach, dancing, jumping, running just like in the movie "The Black Stallion" He is transformed from being a number to being Maximus!

Yogi, is our newest member of the herd. He is a 3 year old Andalusian colt, and his name says it all. From the moment we met him, you felt peace and love. His doe eyes, his gentle nature, his curiosity, his love for humans and what they are doing, are inspiring. He also became the big brother to Mashal, and will play with him, teach him and protect him from any danger. They are Bros for life.

We have our 8 cats ( they all literally found us and refused to leave, I mean we didn't have anything to say in the matter, its their home, and we are so happy they did), 4 dogs that happily romp around the farm creating havoc and joy where ever they can, 1 rescue parrot ( he literally crashed into my daughters doll carriage one day, and never left us, he cant fly very well at all, probably someone badly clipped his wings, his name is Jackie Chan) .

We ask from our heart if you can help us with your compassion and love for horses and animals, to help us feed and care for our horses, dogs and cats and continue to spread light and love in a world that needs this more than ever.

We are not asking because it is an easy way out, we are asking because we have no choice, because we have lost everything. We are fighting to survive and keep our animal friends fed and in health, to support and help Ramon, whose life depends on this farm, and to feed ourselves, to keep the electricity on and to be able to continue to do our work to help others in need. We have been helping animals and humans for all these years, but now we need your help.

It is from our heart, that we send love and light to you.

Peace in our hearts, peace in our lives, peace in the world.

Namaste Terry
