Our mother, Faye Litonjua (Mama), fought colon cancer in 2001. She went into remission. In 2016, one of my sisters, Anna, fought uterine cancer. In 2017, Anna, had congestive heart failure. Anna won her fight and has recovered since.
On February 10, 2020, our father, Antonio (Papa), had a successful quadruple bypass. On February 20, it was Mama's turn for a work up and completed a PET scan and a CT scan. Last Friday, February 21, 2020, we received preliminary results of her PET scan and CT scan through her oncologist which showed breast cancer, with metastasis to the brain (13 tumors noted) and right axilla, and a mass in the uterus. The brain tumors explain why Mama is having issues with her.motor skills and speech. Her deterioration is quite fast, though.
Mama was rushed to St. Luke's Saturday morning, February 22, 2020, for being semi unresponsive. She has been admitted since then and will start her radiation therapy today to address her brain swelling and pain.
The procedures and treatments our family members went through over the last 3 years have taken toll on us mentally, emotionally and financially. And we are at a point where we humbly recognize that we can no longer go through this alone.
We ask for financial assistance, for our Mama's fight against cancer. We just confirmed last night, that she has stage 4 breast cancer with metastasis to the brain. Please help us help Mama continue her fight against cancer so she can still enjoy life with us, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and to also be able to attend our youngest sister's wedding next year. This year is Papa and Mama's 50th wedding anniversary. We intend to celebrate their anniversary quietly together as a family, in prayer. Mama is also determined to fight this cancer. Let us all help her. Any amount will go towards her admission, radiation treatment, physical and speech therapy and care.
We also ask for prayers to give us all strength, spiritual guidance and peace through all these trials.

She is ambulatory with assistance, and speech has improved. It is amazing how in these times we relied on the grace of God and

Update posted by Tania Tapia at 02:04 amMama is on her 5th day of radiation therapy today. Steroids have been tapered, so far no siezures (yay!). Yesterday, she walked around the room with her Physical Therapist and with an aid of a walker. She had her 4th sessionbwith a Speech Therapist as well. She displays disorientationbwhen it. . . . .

Update posted by Tania Tapia at 06:53 pmMama is responding well to steroids and radiation therapy for her brain. She is awake during the day, takes regular naps, is able to sleep through the night. Stuttering is completely unnoticeable, and she can raise her right arm, and use her right hand to hold a cup and take. . . . .
