Sara’s Luzerne Music Camp

Hello, my name is Sara Ramírez, I am a violinist at the Costa Rica's National Intermediate Orchestra, I need your help to fulfill my dream to be part of a high level musical camp in New York.

I am a 16-year-old Costa Rican, a high school student and a passionate violinist, since childhood I have lived in the world of music, through the study of this wonderful instrument. Thanks to the sacrifice of my parents, I have had the joy of learning at the National Institute of Music of Costa Rica, in which, over the years, and in accordance with my progress and level, I have belonged to different orchestras, such as: Children's Camerata, Children's Symphony Orchestra and, at present, I am part of the Costa Rica's National Intermediate Orchestra.

Fortunately, in December 2019, I auditioned to attend an 8-week camp at Luzerne Music Center in the state of New York, where I auditioned and was accepted with the benefit of a partial scholarship. I am excited to live this experience in an institution of such high prestige, because it represents a great opportunity to expand my musical knowledge, develop myself as a musician and improve my technique and level. It is a dream to share with others with the same affinity, in a foreign language and culture. It represents an invaluable enrichment that will make me grow both cognitively and humanly.

Although I have already received a part of the scholarship, unfortunately, my family does not have the means to finance what is needed, such as money to cover travel expenses, insurance and part of the program. Therefore, I appeal to your generous contribution to be able to carry out this experience.

I will be very grateful with all donations, regardless of the amount, every penny counts, any help you can offer, because they will make my wish come true. Music has always been a language that unites people regardless of race, place or social condition, which makes them vibrate, which allows communication. For me, music is everything, it accompanies me in what I do, even if it is in my mind, it makes me dance, it makes me sing and I would not survive without it. It is to enjoy, to express yourself. Music, regardless of gender, tells stories, conveys feelings and different emotions. It has always lived among us and will never stop. Help me to grow musically, to vibrate in this camp. This is how music does not cease to exist.
